Our Story
Established in 2005, Verstay offers a comprehensive range of quality products and services to the telecommunication industry at large. The founding members recognised the need for a company that would focus its energies on supplying a cost effective range of products to dealers and end users alike without compromising on quality, reliability or backup service.
We only represent products that we are proud of and that we can recommend to you to deliver outstanding service throughout the application life.
Vertex Standard has been available for over sixty years in a number of countries around the world and has provided mission critical communications for thousands of businesses and government agencies. The company initially obtained the Southern African distribution rights for “Vertex Standard and Yaesu of Japan” PMR communication equipment, because we understand the demanding environments that our products will have to endure to be acceptable to the global market.
Yaesu Musen is still manufacturing their well-known Yaesu Amateur and Airband Radios, as well as their Standard Horizon Marine Radios, but Vertex Standard’s Commercial Product Portfolio has since been absorbed and rebranded by Motorola Solutions. (All Motorola, Standard Horizon and Yaesu radios are well designed and rigorously field-tested throughout the world.)
As our company grew, we were further awarded the sole African Distribution rights for the quality Midian range of encryption and tone encode/decode boards (for use in all major radio brands such as Vertex Standard, Icom, Motorola and Kenwood radios). Midian boasts the highest level of rolling code encryption boards available on the market. When confidential conversation is important to your business, then Midian is the product for your organisation.
Today, the analog and digital two way radio products we offer also include trusted brands like Diamond Antennas, HQT, Hytera, Sepura*, Simoco, and Webb. We have a commitment by our suppliers to keep on the cutting edge of radio technology to ensure resellers and end users of the very latest advances in the radios they purchase.
Our products are currently used in public safety and private sectors such as Security firms, Policing, Fire Protection, Medical Services, Municipalities, Transport and Construction companies, to name a few.
We thrive on technology and have aligned ourselves with a Push to Talk (PTT) supplier to keep up with recent movements in the Telecommunication Industry. This revolutionary new radio technology allows users to combine cellular data with conventional styled two way radio equipment. The PTT devices supplied are Android based and our team is working on finding a way to incorporate Linux with them.
In addition to the aforementioned, Verstay and its affiliates have provided Turnkey Equipment for Projects involving Power Generation (generator/solar panels) as well as Control Rooms (desks, chairs, etc). Our latest offerings center around the Uniview Digital Cameras, available due to the Distributorship awarded to AI Secure SA in 2019.
Since the Global Covid-19 pandemic unfolded, Uniview also released their hospital and commercial range of Thermal Detecting and Imaging equipment. This equipment goes hand in hand with PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) and we have therefore decided to enter the medical supply realm through our collaboration with a new local partner and various other suppliers so that we can offer a full range of PPE alongside our existing product portfolio to all potential customers.
Future plans include further expansion into the sub-continent to offer skills training and product know-how for the ever growing African market.
Verstay Management leads from a policy of “ownership” for all employees and empowering all individuals to excel at their own strengths. Verstay has adopted an approach of transferring of skills at all levels to individuals who show the desire to expand their two way radio knowledge and, as a current Level 2 B-BBEE Contributor, recommitted ourselves to a new multi-phase BEE continuity plan* to facilitate the birth and longevity of an indigenous company in the two way radio field.
Verstay is situated at Villa Valencia Office Park in Glen Marais just a few minutes’ drive north from OR Tambo (Johannesburg) International Airport. The proximity of the offices to all major highway routes in Johannesburg makes for quick and easy access by clients.
